Movie Crossword — actors down, films across

A compact daily crossword where every answer is a movie thing: actor surnames and film titles, interlocking on a criss-cross grid. Every clue is drawn from real filmographies — "Starred in Die Hard (1988)" wants a certain surname, "1996 film with William H. Macy" wants a title.

How to play

1. Tap a square to select a word; tap again to switch between Across and Down.
2. Type letters to fill the entry — focus advances automatically, and the clue for the active word is shown above the grid.
3. Fill every square correctly to solve the puzzle. When the grid is full, any wrong letters are marked so you know where to look again.

Hints

Two levels of help: reveal letter fills the selected square, and reveal word completes the active entry. Revealed letters are counted in your result — a no-hint solve is the gold standard.

Tips

Answers strip punctuation and spaces, so "Die Hard" becomes DIEHARD and surnames with particles run together (DENIRO). Start with the clues that name a film and a year — those usually pin a surname quickly — then let the crossings do the heavy lifting on the harder title entries. Because answers skew toward famous films and stars, a half-filled entry is often guessable: five letters ending in -ANKS is not a mystery.
